Greg Attonito, Kevin Seconds, Kepi Ghoulie Vespa Tour
It’s not unheard of for The Bouncing Souls’ Greg Attonito, Kevin Seconds, and Kepi Ghoulie to tour together, but to do so on Vespa scooters might be a little out of the ordinary. Yet, that’s exactly what they will be doing, joined by Attonito’s wife, singer/songwriter Shanti Wintergate.

Starting June 3rd in Philadelphia, this troupe of scooter-riding musicians will venture throughout the Northeast, performing everywhere from traditional venues like clubs and bars to less common spaces like an elementary school and tattoo shop. The tour, dubbed the “Vroom Vroom Vespa Tour 2010,” will include stops in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts. For more information, visit the tour website here or check out dates on our Tour Dates page.

Riot Fest Records Joins ILC

We are very pleased to announce that Chicago’s Riot Fest Records have joined Independent Label Collective for worldwide distribution!
Having cut their teeth organizing the much-acclaimed annual Riot Fest, it was only natural to step into the world of releasing great music as well. With their first release, the Naked Raygun What Poor Gods We Do Make DVD/CD, Riot Fest Records were off to a great start. Since then, the label has continued to work with Naked Raygun for an ongoing 7″ single series spanning 2010, as well as issuing Chicago punk outfit Shot Baker’s great album Take Control… with a lot of cool stuff on the horizon too.
My Favorite Record Store: Daniel Jubert
Daniel Jubert, bassist of Coke Bust, shares about the store he prefers:

“My favorite record store is Celebrated Summer in Baltimore/Towson. There aren’t that many good things about Baltimore, but Celebrated Summer is the best thing. It is a small record store in the back of a comic book store… good prices, especially on used stuff, and Tony who works there has a story about every record. Worth the drive every time.”
My Favorite Record Store: Dave Witte
Drummer extraordinaire Dave Witte (of Municipal Waste, Burnt By The Sun, King Generator, Discordance Axis, etc.) shares about the stores that he frequents:

“My three faves are Aquarius in San Francisco due to the great tastes in stock, Vintage Vinyl in NJ, where I used to get everything growing up, and Plan 9 in Richmond, VA where I live and support as much as possible as I try to “live local.” I can honestly say, I’ve never ordered an album in any format over the internet. Not that I am against it, but for me, there is nothing like the thrill of the hunt and holding the album you found in your hands en route to the cash register, anticipating the first listen.”
